Southdown Holdings wants to keep Cows in ‘cubicle’s

Southdown Holdings has applied for a resource consent to manufacture milk.  Long gone are the days where a farmer would provide milk for his family and neighbours.  Now it is a massive global industry devoted to money.

Cows will be housed in cubicle stables from March to October, and for 12 hours a day from November to February

Make a submission, don’t let them lock up cows like criminals.

UPDATE
Williamson Holdings Limited & Five Rivers Ltd are also applying for consents for the same ‘cubicle’s.  Please make submissions against all of these resource consent applications.

Please also make your voice heard about animal welfare to animalwelfare@maf.govt.nz and argue against these Factory Farms.

What can I do?

1. Make submissions against the following resource consent requests

2. Email your concerns about the animals’ welfare to animalwelfare@maf.govt.nz
3. Email your concerns about the climate effects to climatechange@datacom.co.nz
